The site also includes additional ceremonial centers.

After exploring Saywite, we will continue by car for another hour to Capuliyoc in Cachora, where we will enjoy lunch with views overlooking the Apurimac Canyon and the snowy peaks of Padreyoc. Following lunch, we will commence our adventure, descending for approximately three hours. We will pass through the Cocamasana viewpoints on our way to Chikiska.

In Chikiska, we will have our dinner and spend the night in a rural lodge that offers rooms with either double or matrimonial beds.

  • Pick-Up Time: Our team will collect you from your hotel in Cusco between 6:00 to 6:30 am, ensuring a seamless start to your adventure.

We will start the day early, right after breakfast, by descending for an hour to the Apurímac River at a spot called Playa Rosalina. After crossing the river, we will begin our ascent toward Santa Rosa, which will take approximately one and a half to two hours. This segment of the trek is physically demanding and involves a steep climb, albeit shaded.

Following a short break, we will continue climbing for another one and a half to two hours until we reach the village of Marampata. Here, we will have lunch and enjoy a free afternoon to rest after climbing 1500 meters in altitude over three to four hours. We will have dinner in the evening and spend the night there.

Rise early on this day to enjoy breakfast before setting off on your descent towards the river, a journey that will take approximately 2.5 hours. Upon reaching the river, you’ll start a 1-hour ascent to the charming village of Chikiska. Here, you’ll refuel with a delicious lunch before continuing your upward trek for another 3 hours to reach the stunning Capuliyoc viewpoint.

At Capuliyoc, you can indulge in a delectable dinner and relax by a cozy campfire. Rest for the night in our comfortable mountain cabins, which offer breathtaking views of the Apurimac Canyon and the snow-capped Padreyoc peak, creating a perfect end to your day of adventure.

On this relaxing day, you’ll have the opportunity to sleep in a little later before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Afterward, you’ll be guided to a special location for a traditional ceremony of offering to the earth (Pachamama), allowing you to immerse yourself in the local customs and spiritual practices.
